Psychological reading
Dreaming of an entity that will not keep a single form often speaks to instability. When a threat changes its nature mid-dream, it may mirror waking situations where the ground keeps moving, such as shifting workplace demands or a partner whose moods fluctuate without warning. It reflects the cognitive strain of trying to prepare for a danger that refuses to follow predictable rules, leaving you struggling to find an appropriate emotional defence.
Cultural reading
Protean beings and shapeshifters exist across nearly every folklore tradition, from Celtic pookas to Indigenous tricksters. They routinely represent nature's unpredictability, illusions, and the danger of taking appearances at face value.
Ask yourself
