Psychological reading
Graffiti in a dream often acts as a visual voice for things usually kept beneath the surface. It can suggest a desire to disrupt sterile rules, claim ownership of an impersonal space, or shout an unpopular truth. Reading words in graffiti might offer clues to subconscious thoughts trying to grab your attention. If you are doing the painting, it often points to a healthy impulse to assert your identity, though sometimes accompanied by a nervous fear of getting caught.
Cultural reading
From ancient political slogans scratched on Pompeii's walls to contemporary urban street murals, graffiti has always hovered between vandalism and vital public expression. It serves as an uncurated canvas for subcultures, dissent, and raw artistic vitality outside traditional galleries.
